Renewable energy specialists

Fulcrum Energy was established by energy specialists Martin Poole and Andrew Durran.  Collectively, Andrew and Martin have >40 years of public and private sector experience in the energy sector, including experience together in:

  • the successful start up of Epuron in Australia, as well as its sale to the Conergy AG group of Hamburg, Germany, and its subsequent buy-back under an MBO;
  • managing the Epuron business since its inception, including development of various wind and solar energy projects including the Silverton Wind Farm, Cullerin Range Wind Farm and TKLN solar projects;
  • establishing the Green Power Accreditation Program in Australia;
  • establishing the solar Olympic Village at Newington NSW, where more than 665 houses were built with fully integrated photovoltaic, solar water heating, and passive solar energy principles.

ANDREW DURRAN, Executive Director, Co-Founder

Andrew Durran is a Director of Fulcrum Energy and Fulcrum3D, and a joint Executive Director of EPURON since 2003. Andrew has more than 20 years experience in the energy industry focussed on renewable energy, including previous roles as an Associate Director of Energy Supply and Business Development at Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), and various roles in NSW-based utilities Pacific Power and Transgrid. Andrew was an active member of the Federal Mandatory Renewable Energy Target Working Group, National Green Power Accreditation Steering Group, and the NSW Sustainable Energy Research and Advisory Council (SERDAC).

MARTIN POOLE, Executive Director, Co-Founder

Martin Poole is a Director of Fulcrum Energy and a joint Executive Director  of EPURON since 2003. Martin has more than 20 years experience in the energy industry in Australia and the UK. Martin is currently a member of the Warren Centre of Advanced Engineering. Before joining EPURON, Martin served as Vice President of Market Development for Powerline GES Pty, Ltd and consulted to numerous energy companies in Australia and the UK, including: Energy Australia, IPART, NSW Sustainable Energy Development Authority, and Combined Heat and Power Association in London.
